Project
Physician Search System on the Internet
A doctor in your vicinity - the innovative presentation of member physicians
The Bavarian State Medical Association met the need of patients for up-to-date information on the Internet by initiating the "Physician Search System on the Internet" project.
In a joint action with F&F, a geo-based proximity search system was designed - with the general conditions pertaining to medical profession policies being taken strictly into consideration.
Once the solution was finished, the system went live right on schedule for the Bavarian Physician Conference in fall 2000. The system launch took place at F&F, where the application is hosted according to the ASP model.
This system receives several hundreds of thousands of search queries annually, which are answered accurately, quickly and efficiently.
Almost one year later, the Association of Panel Doctors of Westphalia-Lippe launched its own physician search service - also with the support of F&F - that additionally calculates the route to take to the doctor's office.
