Management Information System in Vehicle Sales
Paperless access to multi-dimensional sales information
With just a few mouse clicks, up-to-date and long-range accumulated information on the used car business can be easily accessed by the Sales department and the dealer organization of the BMW Group.
Standard reports on various reporting levels are available on the intranet and extranet. Individual analyses are offered on the intranet via the Cognos web interface for multi-dimensional cubes (OLAP). For this purpose, the data is automatically edited for the user
- into a number of dimensions
(time dimension with a yearly, quarterly and monthly level, as well as relative time categories and comparisons, sales structures, make/type/model and many other vehicle characteristics) - with categorization by price comparison ranges and other criteria
- with significant key figures
(such as stock and sales figures, price history, sales quotas/achievement of objectives, etc.) - Reports on invoices/wholesale/retail for international sales
A daily updated data warehouse (based on an Oracle database) forms the database.
